Master's Thesis at the Area Marketing

The purpose of a master's thesis at the Area Marketing is the science-based examination of a marketing related subject and thereby the enhancement of marketing related knowledge. The supervision of the master's thesis is organized individually by each chair.

Prerequisite - In order for students to work on master's theses at a chair of the Area Marketing they must have passed one of the research seminars offered by the four chairs of the area (chair Homburg MKT 710, chair Stahl MKT 720, chair Kuester MKT 730, or chair Kraus MKT 740). You can find the prerequisites for attending the research seminars for the different student cohorts on the websites of the seminars. We strongly recommend to also attend the module MKT 510 Price and Product Management to acquire further marketing knowledge before writing your thesis.

Furthermore, we recommend to write the master's thesis at the chair you submitted your seminar paper to and thereby have already become integrated in the chair's science- and project related work processes.

Please be aware of the application periods for the research seminar modules, which can be found on the chairs' websites.
